What inspired you to launch your own business?
I’m a hopeless romantic. Always have been, always will be. I’m the type that will listen to every detail about “how you met” and “how he proposed” - I LOVE IT. I eat it up! Tell me more! I was lucky enough to star in my own love story when I married my best friend, my college sweetheart, Matthew Mines. My greatest accomplishment yet. The best day of my life. Through the support of my incredible husband, friends and family, Roots to Stems was born out of pure grit, determination, and passion for BIG LOVE, like the love I found, with a goal of bringing those love stories to life. My background in creative writing and journalism sparked a deep passion for storytelling which I’ve brought into every aspect of my business. My goal in working with every couple is to ensure I break surface level to truly understand them, from their roots to their stems. My hope is to continue on my purpose-driven mission of diving deep into storytelling, designing and working with incredible couples to plan weddings strongly rooted in their love — a day that could only be their own.
What keeps you passionate about weddings?
The people I meet! This is the BEST part of the job. I love meeting new brides and grooms who are passionate about their love and making sure their day reflects who they are as a couple. I like to break surface level with my couples, not just "checking the boxes" but rather bringing intricate pieces of their story to life through their special day. Every love story is unique and so should the wedding day!
