What inspired you to launch your own business?

I had thought about becoming a wedding planner when I was in my twenty's, but thought it was unattainable. For fifteen years I planned corporate events for companies that I worked for. Apartment community appreciation parties when I was an apartment manager, yearly city Christmas parties when I was an account manager with a city. Fast forward twenty years, I'm planning my own wedding and loving every second of it. I began researching and learning as much as I could about weddings. I wanted ours to be unique and beautiful, just like most couples do. I realized with my history in management and accounting that I was good at communicating what I wanted and having realistic goals for my budget. I became an officiant during the process of planning our own wedding and have worked with couples that did not have a planner or coordinator. I found myself filling those shoes often and knew after the third time that I needed to look for training in that particular side of the industry. I came across The Bridal Society and started researching their company and training program. I knew in my heart that this is the path I wanted to take and decided to enroll and become a certified wedding planner. I couldn't be happier with my decision. My husband has been very supportive of my decision and has encouraged me to leave the corporate world and head fulltime into the wedding industry.

What keeps you passionate about weddings?

Weddings are ever changing! They are creative, exciting and beautiful. Each one is unique in their own way. The happiness in the faces of the couple and their families at the end of the night is incredibly satisfying and so is knowing that I helped to make their wedding day of their dreams as stress-free as I possibly could.

Please share a recent testimonial from a happy client!

"Trudy did an amazing job at our last minute wedding ceremony. We wanted our elopement to feel like a real wedding. I was getting sent to my first duty station with the Army and wanted to get married before I left. I had only spoken to her on the phone a couple times. She set up a small ceremony for us, she even gave my wife flowers to hold and decorated her office to look like an actual place you would get married. We had no budget and half the questions she asked I didn't know how to answer. She just said she would take care of everything. She did! Her husband even took some photos for us and my wife was so happy to be able to have those memories. If you need a quick wedding she is the person I would pick. She didn't miss any details." - Devon H
