What inspired you to launch your own business?
Oh, man, a few things! First, I went to several friend weddings where the ceremony wasn't that great. I didn't think much of it but, overtime, I realized how much I actually loved weddings. So, I thought about how I could get into it and happened upon Officiating - which was fantastic because I could connect with the couple and give them something incredible. Along the way I saw so many couples that could benefit from coordination and so I jumped into that. Finally, I'm an emergency preparedness professional and an EMT = always involved in peoples worst day. It's kind of nice to be on the other side of things. To see people who are absolutely in love AND all of their friends and family coming to celebrate that moment.
What keeps you passionate about weddings?
The couples. No doubt. Preparing for a wedding is a ton of work, not to mention the pressure of trying to make things as perfect as possible on a day that you can't really call a mulligan on. Honestly, I thought that officiating was my favorite thing. Actually, it's the time after the ceremony, after the dinner, after the toasts, when the lights turn down and everybody gets out on that dance floor. I absolutely love being a fly on the wall - watching everybody dance, all the smiles... it really just renews your own energy about not just love but life.
