What inspired you to launch your own business?
I was inspired to start my own business in 2001 after I stepped in to finish the wedding planning of a co-worker and friend whose wedding planner had to pull out of planning due to a medical crisis. I was a corporate meeting planner at the time and he asked me if I would help them. I took the challenge and fell in love!
What keeps you passionate about weddings?
The love of family gatherings. I grew up in a family where celebrations were large and quite frequent. Weddings included a church ceremony, large bridal parties and receptions that lasted into the wee hours of the morning. The women in my family would spend months planning these events and in the final days there would be a flurry of activity as they worked with the local florist and wedding day director to put the final touches on these elaborate affairs. When I look back at family photos, what stands out the most to me are the beautiful designs, the love, the joy and incredible fun we had at those celebrations because of the time and attention that went into every detail. As a wedding planner today, my goal is to help my clients experience that same joy, by working closely with them to create a magnificently designed environment to celebrate their love.
